Living in Yorkshire
The historic county of Yorkshire is based in the north of England and, due to its size is broken into four sub-counties; North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and East Riding.
Nicknamed ‘God’s own country’, the Yorkshire region is renowned for some of the greenest borders in the country. Scenic landscapes including two national parks, the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, make up its country borders, meaning no matter where you are in Yorkshire you are never far from its stunning natural scenery.
The vibrant city of Leeds is the largest in the region, with many travelling for both work and pleasure. The ancient city of York, with its cobbled streets and traditional architecture make it a popular attraction for the region. Both cities are well equipped for commuters with easy access to the A1(M) and M1 motorways.
Yorkshire’s smaller towns and villages, including Sherburn-in-Elmet, offer a quiet escape from city life with the same convenient transport links for commuters to the A1(M) and M62 corridor.
