Living in Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire is famous for its forests, but has the Peak District on its doorstep as well as some great water sport options. Wonderfully green, but with great transport infrastructure and amenities, the region has considerable appeal for people looking for a new home.

The city of Nottingham is the county’s thriving hub. The surrounding urban area is the largest in the East Midlands and one of the biggest in the UK, meaning it boasts an array of shopping districts, theatres and museums. There is a tram system, ensuring travel in the area is efficient and making new homes in Nottinghamshire even more ideal.

Elsewhere in the region, you’ll enjoy Newark-on-Trent and Mansfield. The former has a rich history, having been situated along one of Britain’s most important Roman roads. The latter is a pleasant and well-equipped market town, perfectly located for exploring the famous Sherwood forest.

The county is served by a network of A Roads, and the M1 runs along its western border.
