What green space is there in Barton-upon-Humber?
Barton-upon-Humber has plenty of green and outdoor space to enjoy and make the most of thanks to its location on the banks of the Humber Estuary. Waters’ Edge Country Park and Visitor Centre is home to a rich and varied array of wildlife. Visitors can enjoy a series of walks around the ponds, which lead through reed beds, woodlands and wildflower meadows. Also within Barton-upon-Humber is Fair Ings Nature Reserve. This spot also offers visitors the chance to explore a diverse landscape of reedbeds, meadow and scrub, with both freshwater and saltwater environments. The nature reserve supports a range of wildlife, and is a fantastic place for bird spotting. There’s also three circular walks through the reserve to pick from.
Also within Barton-upon-Humber is Baysgarth Park, which within its 30 acres includes green open spaces ideal for picnics and games, a bowling green which is open to the public, play area and woodland walks. It’s also home to Baysgarth Leisure Centre, and Baysgarth House Museum. This Grade II listed building is a fine example of Georgian architecture with Georgian and Victorian style rooms and there’s currently plans to breathe fresh life into the property too!
