Arts & Culture

There’s no denying that the people of Yorkshire are proud of their history and heritage, and Cleckheaton is no exception! For 34 years, the town has hosted the ‘Cleckheaton Folk Festival’ which celebrates Yorkshire’s rich heritage of folk music and folk dance. The event features a variety of performers, workshops as well as street entertainment and markets.

Transport

Cleckheaton features a bus station in its town centre, with regular services running through to Bradford Interchange. Although the town has two disused railway stations - Cleckheaton Central and Cleckheaton Spen - the nearest railway stations are only short car journeys away, and can be found in Brighouse and Oakenshaw. Cleckheaton is also located within easy distance of major road networks, meaning it couldn’t be simpler getting from point A to B. The Chain Bar roundabout is just minutes away by car, and links up with the M62. A short journey down the M62 will see you in cities such as Wakefield, whilst junction 27 will take you onto the M621 to Leeds. The M606 runs straight through to Bradford, whilst the A58 road runs through to Halifax, meaning the major towns and cities nearby couldn’t be simpler to get to.

Established in 1983 and still going strong, Aldo’s Pizzeria serves up fresh, authentic Italian food. You’ll find all the classics on their menu, as well as their own signature dishes which have become firm favourites with the locals. They also have their very own prosecco bar too! Wok Ever Palace brings a contemporary feel to Chinese dining. They offer a variety of dishes, and it’s the place the locals choose when it’s Chinese cuisine they’re after.

There’s stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, a delicatessen and cafe, fashion shops, places selling pet supplies as well as many others.
