We’re not just a homebuilder, we’re a family of like-minded individuals who are committed to delivering beautiful homes and meaningful communities that are both sustainable and affordable. We’re a family-run business with over a century of rich history, and we’re believers in change.
We believe that while homes may be our legacy, it is the people who live in them that truly matter to us. In putting people at the heart of what we do, we can ensure that as a team we are designing homes that are mindful of the planet and its resources, while creating healthy, inclusive and resilient communities that can in turn improve the lives of generations to come.
Sustainability Strategy
Our sustainability framework reflects who we are at the core, putting human connection, and our responsibility to the planet first. We have created meaningful and measurable actions that will allow us to deliver Outstanding Homes for Happy Customers and Thriving Communities, the focus areas that form the building blocks of our vision for a sustainable future.
Strata Support Office
Our Support Office based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire is where our team and creativity blossoms. We know that in creating a work environment that is welcoming and sustainable we are inspiring the team to design and deliver equally welcoming and sustainable homes and communities.
As part of our journey to become a sustainable business, we are constantly looking for ways to improve how we operate and are therefore undergoing a series of transitions across all operations, including at our Support Office to reduce our environmental impacts.
As part of our Support Office revamp in 2018, we installed a number of features across Quay Point to make the building both more comfortable for the user and more efficient. LED sensor lighting saves energy and creates lighting levels that are good for productivity and team wellbeing.
We also installed temperature controlled zones to prevent excess heating or cooling, and hot water taps for a more efficient way to access boiling water.
We’ve partnered with Doncaster Council to achieve zero to landfill from waste generated at our Support Office, through segregated recycling and paperless processes to minimise waste. We’re also constantly exploring takeback schemes and alternative packaging options throughout the supply chain.
Any non-recyclable waste is then transferred to a local facility in Rotherham where it is recovered via Anaerobic Digestion.
In 2021, we introduced a new company car scheme to encourage the transition to electric and hybrid vehicles across the team. We installed 8 charging points at our Support Office and provided financial support to enable team members to install electric charging points in their own homes.
Our team members have welcomed the transition, with 91% of company cars ordered between the introduction of the scheme in 2021 and October 2023 being electric or hybrid!
