Whether you’re looking for a peaceful nature walk, a shopping spree, or an evening of dining and entertainment, you’ll be spoilt for choice locally. Within a 4-minute drive or 10-minute walk, you’ll arrive at The Springs at Thorpe Park—an innovative retail and leisure hub featuring a cinema, crazy golf, gym, restaurants, and shops.

For those who prefer the outdoors, both Temple Newsam and Roundhay Park are just 10 to 15 minutes away by car, offering scenic retreats close to home. Additionally, with Crossgates railway station and the M1 nearby, traveling further afield is a breeze.

However you like to spend your spare time, living at Desire means you can find it close to home. As well as the cultural and leisure attractions of the city centre, the Yorkshire Dales aren’t far away, and its excellent transport links mean you can easily head further afield.

Just ten minutes from home you’ll find Lotherton Hall, an Edwardian country house filled with hidden treasures and surrounded by expansive gardens and grounds. Walking distance from home or just a few minutes in the car you’ll find Austhorpe Primary School, which has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted during its last two inspections. 

Temple Moor Secondary School, is also reported as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, and is just eight minutes from home. Children from 11-17 can attend, so offering an alternative to college for older children to continue their educational journey.

Pure Gym, Leeds Thorpe Park is under five minutes away from Desire by car. Pay as you go day passes are available, or regular gym goers can pay monthly, and you can choose from personal training programmes or induction and group classes. 

For keen golfers, Temple Newsam Golf Course is just 10 minutes from Desire. With both an 18 hole and a new 9 hole course designed in 2017, Temple Newsam’s course is cleverly configured to get the best out of your game. Garforth Golf Range is also within easy reach. 
 

Desire is only around ten minutes from the M1, taking the pain out of everyday commuting. It’s also less than 20 minutes away from Leeds city centre, making travel easy for work and pleasure. 

Leeds Train Station is 25 minutes from home, giving rapid access to a number of major cities such as Sheffield, Manchester, Harrogate and York.

Focussing mainly on graphic art and design, typography, illustration and product design, it stocks books, journals, prints, cards, gifts, homeware and stationery sourced both locally and internationally from a mix of established and up and coming producers. 

Sociable Folk, a small chain coffee shop is just under 30 minutes away from Desire and provides the perfect hub for socialising, grabbing a quick coffee, meeting colleagues for a working lunch or catching up with friends. 

Half an hour away you’ll find The Little Bookshop, where you can explore literature and illustration with the whole family. The shop is dedicated to sourcing a diverse range of inclusive books and bringing them together under one roof. And if you don’t want to venture out, they deliver locally and the rest of the UK.
