Ian's Story - My Strata Story

Introducing Ian, one of our talented Project Managers from our Production department.

After being with us for over 18 years, Ian is certainly part of the Strata furniture! Over the years, Ian has worked on developments both old and new such as Kudos in Leeds and Dominion in Doncaster.

One of Ian’s many daily roles is to oversee each of our developments to make sure that everything is in working order and running smoothly, allowing our customers to move into their dream home and grab those shiny new house keys as soon as possible!

Ian mentions in his poem how he has built homes his entire life, it is in his blood. That is the dedication and the commitment we have to the cause at Strata, we devote our lives to improving others. That is something we are pretty proud to shout about.

We continue to strive to be the best at what we do, we develop and change over the years but one thing never changes, our teamwork and our passion to deliver the perfect home.

I’ve built homes all my life,
it’s in my blood,
it’s all I know.

It’s not like how it used to be.
Things change,
you can’t stop it,
but you have to do right by your team…
that doesn’t change.
They need to know they’ve got the gear they need,
where they’re going next,
what they can get away with…
and what they can’t.

This isn’t for the faint-hearted.
The work doesn’t suit everybody.
You’ve got to keep moving on.
There’s no point whinging,
it gets thee nowhere.

It’s been a hard few years,
but there’s never been a time when it’s easy.
When it’s easy and nowt to do,
that’s when I get bored.
Sitting back, no problems…
it’s not for me.
