How to style your bathroom on a budget

Your bathroom is a room that’s often forgotten about in the style department. It’s a struggle trying to be creative in such a functional space but with a few simple touches and browsing your own home instead of home sense, you can turn your bathroom from functional to fabulous without having to break the bank.

Keep it green

Plants are our go to when it comes to styling a bathroom. Not only do they benefit your mental health, which is always a bonus when you’re trying to have a relaxing bath, but they also look great. 

Our ‘shop your home’ top tip: If, like the rest of us, you’ve filled your home with plants this year, it shouldn’t be hard to walk around your home and find a plant that would be better suited to your bathroom. Look at your shelves/bed side table etc. does it look cramped? Try taking things away and stepping back to see what it looks like. 

Towel time 

Towels are definitely more functional than they are stylish, but they can still add personality, depth and texture to your bathroom. Think about the colours in your bathroom, is there a colour or a tone you can pick out from your tiles? Or try opting for a colour pop and choose a different colour palette all together.

Bath style

The easiest way to style your bath is by adding a bath tray! For texture, opt for a wooden tray with exposed wood grain and accessorise with a candle, plant and a tub of bath salts. It adds instant style to your bathroom and is a super easy style solution!

Bottle it up

Your bathroom is one of the most functional spaces in your home and will be filled with bottles of shampoo and conditioner, shower gel and soap. They’re not always the most stylish design and can often look bulky and awkward. Clear bottles are a great low cost solution to more stylish storage.  

Candle love

Finally, candles. They’re the perfect accessory for any room, especially your bathroom. They’re great for creating a relaxing environment and make the perfect addition to your bath tray. 

Our ‘shop your home’ top tip: Candles are a brilliant accessory for every room. This probably means you have a lot dotted around your home. Have a look around and see what’s laying around, do you have a candle on display that you haven’t lit yet? Take it away and move it into your bathroom where you’re probably more likely to light it more often.
