Nearby Leeds centre offers two world-class theatre experiences, along with a number of cinemas. When dining out in Leeds you will be spoilt for choice. Try Michelin-rated Man Behind The Curtain, or a refined meal at 44 The Calls. If you want something more modern, exotic or foreign, there’s plenty to suit every taste in Leeds centre.
Further afield, and you can explore the nearby Yorkshire Dales, historic York, or genteel Harrogate. There is a lot of open countryside on your doorstep, with woods and streams and parkland all just a short walk away.
Local schools are important for growing families, and you’ll find the ones close to Finesse come highly recommended.
Gateways School offers education from two years right through to sixth form age, and was rated ‘excellent’ by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). The inspectors said, “Small class sizes and close attention by teachers to individual needs, including specialist support if needed, are major factors in the excellent academic achievement of all groups.”
Another quality school in the area is Woodhouse Grove School, which admits children from three years through to 18 years. The school offers day and boarding options for pupils, and with an ‘excellent’ in their latest ISI report. “Pupils throughout the school achieve highly because the school expects that they will and encourages them to be ‘the best that they can be’,” said the inspectors.
For the keen golfers you'll find Roundhay Park has a classic nine hole course in mature wooded parkland, making for a scenic round during the golfing season.
You'll also find Rounghay Park's scenery is the perfect backdrop for a run, walk or cycle, with a number of different routes that take you on a tour of the park's picturesque landscape.
If you're a gym enthusiast, JD Gym is just across the outer Leeds ring road, and a bit further round you'll find the David Lloyd Tennis and Health Club. There are a host of classes, including yoga and pilates, as well as martial arts at various centres within a couple of miles of Finesse.
When it comes to looking after yourself, there are a number of health centres nearby including Scholes Surgery, Whinmill Health Centre, Park Edge or Grange Medical Centre. Whinmoor Dental Care is a short walk from Finesse at Bramley Gardens. A+E is at the world-famous St James’ hospital (“Jimmies”) in the centre of Leeds.
Finesse is only half a mile from the A64, giving quick access to the A1M (just four miles away) and therefore routes to York, north to Harrogate and Teesside, or south to Doncaster. The M1 link is also only five miles away, with fast access around the north-east side of Leeds and down to the M62.
You can drive into the centre of Leeds easily, or catch buses that pass directly outside the Finesse development. The regular buses give access to nearby villages, and beyond to Wetherby and Harrogate.
The Seacroft shopping centre is under a mile away, with a large Tesco amongst a range of useful shops. More independent shopping can be had in Wetherby, just five miles from home, and a considerable range of shops can be found in the centre of Leeds.
Leeds is host to the recently opened Trinity and Victoria centres, in addition to John Lewis and Harvey Nichols department stores among other high street brands and independent retailers.
