About Essence

Essence, in the Nottinghamshire village of Linby, is a collection of four bedroom semi-detached and detached family homes. The semi-rural location is in commuter distance of Nottingham, with the city centre 8.3 miles away and easily accessible by train or tram.

Many homes at Essence, on Wighay Road, will look over open countryside and the development is on the doorstep of The Ranges. The former Linby Colliery is now a public recreation area with gateways and footpaths that are perfect for walkers.

As well as great views of Linby and the surrounding countryside, it’s worth walking up the hill to see the 4-metre high sculpture of a man walking a dog, commissioned by Nottingham City Council to celebrate the area’s mining history.

Essence is a 20-minute walk to Hucknall’s High Street, which has a good selection of local and high street shops, banks, a library and a weekly outdoor market. A further 10-minute walk will bring you to the train station with frequent trains to Nottingham, Worksop and Mansfield. You will also find a tram stop with trams running every 10 minutes to Nottingham city centre.

Bestwood Country Park has more than 650 acres of open green space, lakes and woodland and is 4.1 miles away.
