Our annual Charity Football Tournament was a great success, raising £11,276 for our 2018 Charity of the Year, Autism Angels.
Cheered on by friends and family, a total of 13 teams played in soaring temperatures to help raise funds.
On the day, each team was given the opportunity to bid for an ex-professional footballer to play alongside them, including ex-Sheffield United and Sunderland player Paul Thirlwell, Alan White who is best known for his spells at Luton and Colchester United.
Organised by our Head of Customer Journey, Matt Bloomer, the tournament was hosted at Harrogate Town AFC
, with the tournament taking place at their home ground, and a trophy presentation ceremony and charity auction to finish the day in their hospitality suites.
“It was a fantastic day, some competitive football but played in the right spirit. The buzz was amazing - Harrogate Town Supporters club were the well deserving winners, however everyone played brilliantly and the support and help from all involved really made it a success. We’ve already had a lot of interest in next year’s event, so looking forward to another great day next year!” says Matt.
The money raised on during the Football Tournament helps to support the great work that Autism Angels do. To show your support and to find out more about the cause, visit the charity’s website here
