Our team recently tackled an astonishing 47-mile cycle ride in the name of charity - and we're proud to report it was a success! The challenge involved cycling from our Dominion site in Doncaster to Ethos in sherwood/'>Nottingham to raise money for our charity of the year, When You Wish Upon A Star. With beautiful scenery, hills and quiet roads, the journey had some inspiring views but certainly wasn’t for the faint-hearted.
Construction Director at Strata Vernon Cunningham only began training a month ago, with 6 sessions lasting 1-2 hours. “The ride was enjoyable. Taking in the countryside and chatting on the way was great, but pedalling the last 15 miles was painful and like riding in treacle.
“My highlight was getting to the point on the route I was familiar with and knowing that there were only a couple of small hills left to do. I knew I had completed it at this point.”
Vernon finished the bike ride in under 4 hours and hopes to get involved with more of Strata’s charity events in the future.
We know it wasn’t easy, so a huge thank you to everyone for taking part and raising money for this great cause!
