Strata’s Finance Director Julian Davis is taking on not one, but eight challenges this over the coming
months in support of our Charity of the Year, Little Hiccups.
Julian was keen to get started as soon as possible with raising funds for the Leeds-based support
group, which helps children with special needs and their families.
And first off the blocks is…
The first of Julian’s eight gruelling events is The Mighty Deerstalker, Scotland’s original obstacle race,
taking place on 12th March.
He’ll be making his way through forests, rivers and mountains – and just to make the challenge a
little more difficult, it takes place at night.
Julian seems in high spirits as the challenge looms: “I am looking forward to this weekend. I've never
done a night obstacle race before.”
Other fundraising activities will include tackling muddy obstacle courses, thrilling adventure trails,
and a stamina stretching half marathon – all of which are sure to push Julian to his limits and
“I’ve only done a couple of events like this before (the longest was only 12km) but my year is now
filled with bigger challenges. Some of the events still look a bit daunting to me but at least I have
started the training,” Julian reveals.
The Strata team will be cheering him on and wish him every bit of luck this weekend and for the rest
of the year.
